Pupil Premium

What is it?

‘Pupil Premium’ (PP) is a grant which is allocated to schools. The pupil premium for 2016/2017 is allocated to local authorities and schools with pupils on roll in January 2016 that are known to have been eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) at any time in the last six years. Each of these pupils attracts a specific amount of funding each year (£1320), to be spent on enhancing and enriching their education. Schools have the freedom to spend the premium, which is additional to the school’s budget in a way they think will best support the raising of attainment for pupils who are eligible to receive funding.
